Performance Evaluation Training and Resources

OPEIU

Important Dates:
June 1st - Evaluations open
June 15th - Evaluations due

Evaluations should be completed for staff that began employment prior to Jan. 1, 2023. 

Process:

• Manager has the option to complete section 1 or section 2 on the paper form. 
• Manager and Employee meet to discuss the evaluation.
• Employee, Manager, dept/office/division head, vice president, and human resources sign the evaluation. 

Non-Aligned

Important Dates: 
June 12th — Performance Management System opens for Self-Review
July 6th — Manager rating due to Vice President
July 21st— Vice President signatures due
July 24 - 31st — Mutual discussions to take place

Evaluations should be completed for staff that began employment prior to Jan. 1, 2023.

Process: 

• The employee completes and submits a self evaluation through the Performance Management Application by June 27th 
• The manager reviews and completes the evaluation with their comments and submits to the next level manager by June 29th
• A discussion on the submitted review is held between the employee and manager by July 31st

AFSCME

Important Dates:
July 6th —  Manager's ratings due to Associate Vice Presidents
July 22nd — Associate Vice President signatures due
August 1st — Employee discussions
October 15th — Final paperwork due to Human Resources
 
Evaluations should be completed for staff that began employment prior to Jan. 1, 2023. 

Process:

• The manager completes the evaluation and submits it to the next level manager for approvals.  
• Employee Manager, dept/office/division head, Associate Vice President sign the evaluation.
• Manager should review evaluations and begin discussions with employees after June 1st. After the discussions, the employee signs the evaluation.
• Evaluations need to be completed and submitted to HR by October 15th

PSA Staff

Important Dates: 
June 12th — Performance Management System is open
July 6th —  Managers review are due to Vice Presidents
July 22nd — Vice President Signatures due
September 15th — Final employee signature and evaluations due to Human Resources

 
Process:

• Manager completes evaluation and submits electronically through the Performance Management application on the pipeline. The application opens June 1st.
• Managers Evaluation is due to the Vice Presidents by July 6th and Vice President's signatures completed by July 22nd
• Within 10 business days of receipt of the written evaluation, each employee will have a discussion with their manager regarding the evaluation.
• Both the employee and manager must sign the final evaluation and electronically file the evaluation within 5 business days of the discussion.
• An evaluation should be completed for all PSA employees. Employees that began after January 1st should focus on setting goals for the upcoming fiscal year.

Non-Aligned Performance Review Virtual Training

June 22nd 9am-11am - Please register here.
Our live training will be broken down into three different sessions.

• 9:00 am - 9:30 am:We will provide a walk-through of the Performance Management system for Non Aligned Staff, this will include how to access and complete their Self-Evaluations.
• 9:30 am - 11:00 am: The training  will continue specifically for Non-Aligned Managers of Non-Aligned and PSA staff. Breaking the discussions up into two sessions, we will provide a walkthrough providing how to access and review their staff's self evaluations and the flow of approvals. The final session will provide the meaning behind ratings, how to conduct discussions, and best practices of the performance evaluation process.
