Eligible employees at NJIT are mandated to enroll in a state retirement plan based on criteria established by the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits (NJDPB):

- Alternate Benefit Program (ABP)
- Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS)
- Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS)
