When a supervisor has been notified of an employee's resignation, they should immediately notify Human Resources to ensure an effective off-boarding process. The supervisor should submit this information through the Separation Google Form. The process flow of the separations form can be found here.
Reasons for separation include:
Voluntary resignation
Retirement
Assignment end
Deceased

Involuntary separations happen when NJIT makes the decision to terminate employment Reasons may include, but are not limited to, layoff, non-reappointment or misconduct. Involuntary separations should be discussed prior with the Employee and Labor Relations team before any action is taken.
