How do I request a flexible work arrangement?
Discuss the option of remote work with your supervisor then complete the Remote Work Request Form. The form should be submitted to your supervisor and VP, Dean or Division Head for approval. Once everyone has signed off the form should be sent to HR@njit.edu.
What if I need a flexible work arrangement due to my disability?
Contact the HR Benefits Team at benefits@njit.edu. The guidelines for remote work is separate from requests for accommodations made under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What is expected from me when I am working remotely?
Working remotely requires the same expectations as if you were working on campus, including being reachable during work hours by phone and email; dressing professionally; participating in meetings; and following all applicable University policies. Please see the Tips for Employees pages for additional details.
Is a flexible work arrangement guaranteed?
No, this is a set of voluntary guidelines for such arrangements. Your supervisor may direct you to come to campus if circumstances require it and may also rescind the arrangement if it no longer meets the needs of your work unit or the University, or if you are not meeting expectations
