Employees should refer directly to the applicable bargaining unit agreement for detailed information. Vacation and sick time allotments vary depending on an employee’s specific bargaining unit agreement.
Full time employees are given 3 personal days at the beginning of each fiscal year. These days may be used for emergencies, observance of any religious holidays, personal business and attendance at a funeral. If these days are not used by June 30th, they are forfeited. New employees accrue these 3 days at a rate of ½ day per month worked until the 3 days is reached or the fiscal year has ended.
Sick Time
Eligibility: As accrued
Paid sick leave is earned by new staff members on the basis of one day per month during the 1st year of employment and 1.25 days per month thereafter (15 days a year). If employed on or before the 15th day of any month you will receive sick leave credit for the entire month. Permanent p/t workers earn sick leave on a prorated basis. All non-aligned employees accrue 105 hours of sick time per year. Sick leave does not expire. For more information please refer to the sick policy for non-aligned.
Vacation Time
Eligibility: As accrued
Non-aligned employees accrue vacation at 105 or 140 hours per year, depending on the level of the position. Unused vacation time may be accrued up to two years, at which point it is capped until usage of time decreases the vacation bank below the capped level. Please refer to the non-aligned vacation policy for additional information.
