Lost & Found

Lost and found items can be turned into the Department of Public Safety, where they maintain a log of lost and found articles. The Department of Public Safety is located in the Parking Deck. Entrance is on Summit Street.

Computing Resources 

NJIT is a computing-intensive university and there are various computing accounts and services available. All computer and phone requests for assistance should be requested through the Information Services and Technology (IST) Department. The service request portal can be accessed on the Highlander Pipeline.

Internal Communications

For faculty and staff information about campus events, university headlines and current events there are various sources that provide different internal information

  • The NJIT News Room: The News Room is a valuable source of news at NJIT, including articles and press releases about student successes, faculty expertise, showcased research, awards and much more. To access the News Room, visit or click on News on the NJIT homepage. Items for publication should be sent via email to gotnews@njit.edu 
  • Safe and Sound: newsletter is issued to all NJIT employees and students by the Department of Public Safety.  The newsletter addresses all safety concerns around the campus.
  • The Vector: is NJIT’s student newspaper, written and produced by the students.  It contains useful information on campus events and student activities.  The Vector can be picked up at various locations all around the Campus.
  • Strategic Communications Newsletter: A weekly email sent to all staff and faculty regarding campus updates, reminders, resources and events. 

External Communications

Public announcements about upcoming events, research, or noteworthy achievements: Please contact the Associate Vice President, Office of Strategic Communications.      

Publicizing Achievements: For news about research, journal publications, news programs, awards or other items of interest, contact the Office of Strategic Communications.

Advertising Upcoming Events : To advertise an upcoming event, contact the NJIT Office of Strategic Communications’ Advertising Coordinator, at 973-596-3439.

  • Advertising:  The Office of Strategic Communications coordinates and manages all paid advertising emanating from NJIT.
Places of interest on campus:

Murray Center for Women: The Constance A. Murray Women’s Center works to maintain a hospitable environment for all women at NJIT.  Located on the second floor of the Campus Center, the Women’s Center offers a wide range of resources, including a multi-media library, computer workstations and access to a World Wide Web database about women in technology.  The center contains space for small group meetings, study, tutoring and research.  It provides a forum for women to discuss matters of mutual concern, including issues related to the academic and social environment at NJIT.  It sponsors programs and events especially designed to facilitate mentoring and career networking among women.  The lounge/study area is open to all members of the NJIT community daily. 

Media Services:  Media and Technology Support Services (MTSS) Request Serviceprovides audio-visual support of conferences and meetings, video production, duplication and distribution of videotape, teleconferencing, and production of printed materials in support of proposals, reports, papers, and presentations.  MTSS is located in the Guttenberg Information Technologies Center and can be contacted at extension 3005 or through their portal. 

University Bookstore: The bookstore address is 120 Summit Street Newark, NJ 07103. Course materials and a variety of office supplies can be found here.  Employees can enjoy a 10% discount on gift items such as sweat-shirts, throw blankets, etc. Textbooks, non-taxable merchandise and snacks are excluded from this discount. Wellness and Event Center: Faculty and Staff have access to the fitness center and classes, basketball courts and the swimming pool.

Nearest Hospital: The nearest hospital is St. Michael’s Hospital located at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Central Avenue.  The hospital phone number is (973) 877-5000.  The emergency entrance is on Central Avenue.
