NJIT wants and needs to understand staff and faculty experiences at the university. This survey will capture a set of data against which to measure our efforts to improve the employee experience and strengthen NJIT as a great place to work. The survey addresses eight core areas of focus:
- Leadership and Planning
- Corporate Culture and Communications
- Role Satisfaction
- Work Environment
- Relationship with Supervisor
- Training, Development and Resources
- Pay and Benefits
- Overall Engagement
Simply put, we need to hear from all faculty and staff in order to make measurable improvements to the employee experience at NJIT.
The online survey will be sent via email from “surveys@bestcompaniesgroup.com” on May 12, 2023, and there will be a 2-week window to complete the survey (close date is May 26). You will be able to complete the survey on your computer or mobile device.
The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.
The survey is anonymous, and you will not be required to enter any self-identifying information. There are seven demographic questions, all of which you can elect to not answer, with the exception of two that are required. Those are:

In which area of the university do you work?
- Academic Area

The survey is anonymous and you will not be required to enter any self-identifying information. It is managed by a third party organization called Best Companies Group (BCG). BCG will be emailing the survey and collecting the data. NJIT will receive the results in aggregate and will not have access to individual survey responses. Our hope is to hear from as many faculty and staff members as possible and we want you to feel assured that your anonymity is protected.
Yes, the aggregate survey results will be made available on the human resources website. Best Companies Group will provide the results to NJIT.
NJIT will use the results to inform enhancements to the faculty and staff experience. The NJIT 2025 strategic plan specifically aspires to strengthen NJIT’s reputation as a “great place to work.” In order to enhance your experience, we need to understand your current experience and your opinion regarding what opportunities NJIT has to create a better work environment. This survey is the one of many steps to learn more from you about what we do well and what we can improve as a university.
